The 5 – Step Plan for Bringing
Making Music Praying Twice Classes to Your Parish
Starting a Making Music Praying Twice class is one of the easiest ways to reach out to young families, promote Parish Life as the center of Family Life, and support the Domestic Church with a program that integrates prayer and Catholic culture into daily life with the power of music. We've done the work to ensure your program is quality education. We provide the training and materials so your program competes with the secular activities on which your parishioners are spending their time and money. We've developed and tested the program so you can succeed with minimal upfront investment and financial self-sufficiency. And, we are there to support you every step of the way:
STEP ONE – Discernment and Licensing
Contact Making Music Praying Twice for information or to get started. We'll discuss your parish life and assess your region for receptiveness and viability. We'll help you in presenting the program to other leaders in the parish or diocese. Once your parish decides to move forward, we will sign a simple Licensing Agreement which will enable the Parish to promote the official program in their community and use our logo and artwork in your fliers, posters and other advertising.
This is NOT a lengthy process filled with nonrefundable fees and expensive up-front costs like secular music programs. We truly want to spread the power of music and prayer to the families and parishes of our Church. We want to make it easy for you. It's our mission. We are offering the parishes and organizations who are ready to innovate in Catholic education and family ministry a special offer. Charter Licensees who obtain licensing before January 2011 receive FREE LICENSING for the first two years.
STEP TWO – Find and train a teacher.
You may already have a teacher chosen for your program. If not, this will be your first enterprise. Pray for guidance and share your need with the Lord. Then, look first to your existing staff: music ministers, music teachers, preschool teachers, or any other staff members who may have the talent and heart for this ministry. Next consider choir members, early-childhood catechists, Children's Liturgy volunteers, etc. Finally, put a notice in your bulletin and Diocesan Newspaper if you are still looking. The Lord will provide.
Your teacher candidate will need to be Certified by Making Music Praying Twice in order to teach in an official program. Most candidates will attend our teacher training workshop. This is a two-day workshop, usually held in Basking Ridge, NJ. Discounts apply for multiple candidates from the same parish or organization.

STEP THREE – Prepare for your class.
Now that your teacher is trained, you have a knowledgeable person to help decide on a space for the class, purchasing of equipment for your class, and ordering the necessary teacher's CDs and Manuals from Making Music Praying Twice. As always, you can always contact us for support and answers to your questions. Coordinate class times and dates with the teacher and the Church/School schedule.
STEP FOUR – Advertise your classes.
Upon licensing, we will provide you with a disc of images and logos which you may use for creating fliers and posters. Bulletin announcements, posters in the community, an announcement at Sunday Mass, a registration opportunity are all good ways of raising interest in your program. Make an announcement or press release for your Diocesan Paper and in the local papers.
We've developed a one-week summer camp which you can offer to your parishioners for an inexpensive way of trying out the classes. Your teacher candidate is automatically prepared with the Summer Camp curriculum and manual upon completion of the Teacher Training Workshop. Making Music Praying Twice offers additional products for advertising to help you succeed more easily. Outdoor Signs, Web Pages on our website with online registrations, official Making Music Praying Twice email addresses are available to licensees only.
STEP FIVE – Take Registrations and start your classes!
All that is left is to accept registrations and tuition payments, which will be made to the parish or school, and get started!
